The Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme began in 1956 and is dedicated to the personal development of young people from all backgrounds.

To take part you just need to be aged between 14 and 24. There are three levels of programmes - Bronze, Silver and Gold - which lead to a Duke of Edinburgh's Award. An Award is achieved by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections (five if you're going for Gold). You can choose what you do and your programme can be full of activities and projects that interest you. See our Award Factsheet in the Key Downloads box and visit the Official D of E website for more information.
